Introducing Audiosmiths | Audiosmiths Blog Tour

Hey guys! Today I’m super excited to announce Audiosmiths  Radio Theater! Read on to learn more about audiosmiths – and an exciting Christmas program releasing soon!

Audiosmiths

Here’s the long and short of it:

Audiosmiths’ Radio Theater is a group of amateur actresses, writers, bloggers, and designers from around North America that work together to produce dramas and release them. With well done editing, sound effects, and a lot of high-pitched voices, you’d never realize none of us have ever been in the same room. Almost.

We are:

Madi, from Life Undefeated, Madison Grace Author, and Delightful World Of Dolls
Tess, from Steeplechase
Julia, from Doll’s N All and Julia Rose Author
Chloe, from Chloe Mali
Liz, from Home With The Hummingbirds,
Rose, from A Purpose Of Winged Dogs, A Doll-op of AG
Jo, from The Lens & The Hard Drive
Enni, from On The Wings Of A Dream
Rebekah, from Stuffie Adventures and Tunes Of My Heart

We’re a new group that started on a random “let’s do this thing!” moment, but we’ve all collected long before in our goal to write good, quality stories and share them with whoever wants to read them, and now, whoever wants to hear them! Every month, short audio dramas, either taken from our short stories or from scenes from our WIPS, will be released for the general public to enjoy (we hope!)

Today I’m super excited to be interviewing Rebekah, and asking her a few questions about how audiosmiths radio started + some other interesting & fun questions too! Let’s get into it!

What first inspired you to start Audiosmiths Radio?

A while ago, Jo (thelensandtheharddrive.wordpress.com) got a literature assignment where she had to write a script and get people to act it out. Armed with the script, Madi, Tess, and I played the three different characters, voice-acting our lines and sending them to her so she could splice them together and create a short audio play off of it. That was Izoria’s Choice, and we all thought it was a one-time thing.

But a few days later, I had the idea that we could do the same thing – but this time, with a scene written by one of us. My Camp NaNo cabin mates latched onto the idea; we held a videocall meeting and much excited squeaking later, had put together was to become Audiosmiths!

What are some of your goals with this program?

Hmmm, I admit I haven’t thought that far into the future yet! I hope we can produce better quality audio dramas as time goes on, keep up with our

schedule of one per month, and perhaps even make some series later on. Adding a website is also on the radar screen. 😛

Who are the participants in this program?

Here’s the complete list, written up by Jo. 😉

Madi, from Life Undefeated, Madison Grace Author, and Delightful World Of Dolls
Tess, from Steeplechase
Julia, from Doll’s N All and Julia Rose Author
Chloë, from Chloë Mali
Liz, from Home With The Hummingbirds,
Rose, from A Purpose Of Winged Dogs, A Doll-op of AG
Jo, from The Lens & The Hard Drive and Welcome To Odyssey
Enni, from On The Wings Of A Dream
Rebekah, from Stuffie Adventures and Tunes Of My Heart

We were all in the same Camp NaNoWriMo cabin in April 2018, and created a group chat afterwards so we could keep in touch. 😀

Your Christmas program is releasing December 24, can you tell us anything about that?

I’m SO excited for this! I can’t tell much without giving spoilers, but it’s a program called Christmas Chances which is based off of Madi’s novelWarfare, a historical fiction series set in a reimagination of the Edo period in Japan. It features Ari Kireina, a warrior trying to keep her Christianbeliefs secret from an investigating samurai: an ordeal which gets more complicated with Tori Murasaki, her best friend, indignantly comes ontothe scene. As for the rest… well, you’ll have to wait to find out. 😉

What are some of your plans for the future of Audiosmiths?

I simply hope we can continue producing plays which will delight, intrigue, and inform our audience – and that we’d all improve at the combined skills needed to make a play (voice acting, graphic designing, video editing, teamwork, etc.), in the process! Here’s to many more years of Audiosmiths to come. *tosses confetti*

Do you have any other upcoming programs?

Yes, indeed! We’re planning to release a play every month. After Christmas Chances, we’ll be working on Hastrman (a Czech folk tale), as well as a scene from one of Enni’s WIPs!

And last, most important question:

What is your opinion on a white Christmas?

Quite obviously the most important question. 😉 I LOVE WHITE CHRISTMASES. I don’t think we’re going to have one where I live this year, nor is it necessary for a perfect Christmas, but snowfall on December 25th is truly the cherry on top of the cake!

Thank you so much Rebekah for letting me interview you!

Make sure to check out, like, subscribe, and comment on their YouTube channel!

Also Jo did a wonderful post announcing this so make sure to check it out as well!

Have a wonderful day guys – and don’t forget to check out AudioSmiths!

-Hannah

P.S. Sorry for the lack of posts – I’ve got a few fun posts planned around Christmas – so stay tuned!
